We care about the ingredients that go into our bread, so naturally we also care about where the milk, lamb, or honey in our cafe food comes from. For this new spring menu at our Banksmeadow cafe, we’ve delved even deeper into showcasing amazing produce. Whether it’s bee-friendly wild honey from Malfroy’s Gold or pure vanilla from Heilala, we hand-pick our favourite ingredients for our menu, seeking out produce that’s handcrafted, natural, and sustainable.

Kick start your day

Begin your day with our breakfast trifle of Farmer Jo muesli, Country Valley yoghurt, seasonal poached fruit, and Malfroy’s Gold honey. Or try the delicious bacon & egg roll with stewed tomatoes and gruyere on milk bun with a side of bread & butter pickles.

Croissants

Joining our popular ham & cheese croissant, we’ve added a gruyere cheese & tomato croissant, plus a smoked chicken & brie croissant. Both the smoked ham and chicken are from Sunshine Meats, a smallgoods producer in Milperra who handcraft their smoked goods.

Eggs

Our lamb shoulder hash is made with root vegetables and grass-fed, naturally grown lamb from Mirrooll Creek. Topped with a fried egg, the hash is served with sourdough toast and Pepe Saya cultured butter. On the vegetarian front, our  baked eggs florentine with creamed spinach and parmesan crumbs are what cheesy, creamy dreams are made of.

Sandwiches

Meat lovers will adore the corned beef sandwich with pickled cabbage on New York Rye. But for a cracking vegetarian sandwich, get the quinoa & soya bread with sprout salad, avocado and labneh (we make the labneh in-house using Country Valley yoghurt).

Salads

Three new salads have swung into our spring menu. Try the iceberg salad with sourdough croutons, parmesan dressing, and a poached egg. Or go for the spinach and lentil salad with candied walnuts, Spanish onion and salted ricotta, which has a honey and turmeric dressing with a hint of chilli. Our eggplant salad features smoked garlic chips, spring herbs and features a Country Valley yoghurt dressing, accompanied by toasted seeded baguette.

Don’t fret, our signature dishes like our sourdough pancakes and croque monsieur are here to stay.
