On Monday 2 March we donated our Single Origin Sourdough for a great cause, the CEO Cook Off held at Carriageworks. The CEO Cook Off is an initiative of OzHarvest that sheds light on the challenges facing Australians in need about food security and homelessness. The event also gives participants an amazing opportunity to challenge their culinary skills and have a fun, all the while giving back to the community.
More than 120 of Australia’s top CEOs and business leaders teamed up with 40 top chefs to cook and prepare meals for 1,000 homeless and disadvantaged Sydneysiders on the evening. Our CFO Nick Wood also joined in on the fun, cooking along with chef Zac Ahrens of Ash St Cellar. On the night the CEOs were grouped into teams and paired with chefs from Australia’s top kitchens. Each Cook Off team prepared a meal and experienced a first-hand connection with those in need by serving food and enjoying a meal together with guests.
The night started with house-made dips prepared by OzHarvest’s Chef for a Cause Travis Harvey, accompanied by crusty slices of Brasserie Bread Single Origin Sourdough. For the mains, the chefs had free reign over what they wanted to showcase.
Guests were treated to performances by Karise Eden series one winner of The Voice Australia and the Field Brothers eight-piece band. The cook off was attended by those who OzHarvest delivers food to daily as well as registered CEOs and business leaders.
OzHarvest has raised over $900,000, but donations are open until 2nd of April. Head to the CEO Cook Off website to donate.
